The Elephant Man

Tonight is the second night of auditions for The Elephant Man, which i am Stage Managing. Last night, we truly had a great turnout at auditions. Lots of new faces & familiar ones as well. Everyone read very well. A few people showed up late & i know some are coming tonight that couldn't make it last night. Plus, callbacks.

It is going to be a great show. I'm excited! For one thing, it is a one act play. This means I get home earlier at night once performances begin. =) It's about an hour & a half long.

I can't wait to dig into this story and get to know the characters. If you are unfamiliar with the story, it's about a man who is, on the outside, hideously deformed, but on the inside, a man of character & intelligence. It is a beautiful story. You can read more about it (or order tickets!) here.

Anyway, I'm truly excited to be a part of this show. Rehearsals do not begin until December & the show opens mid-January. We are also doing a student performance during school hours one day - meaning i get to take off work to do theatre!!! WOOHOO for that! =) (Though theatre is volunteer... so i won't get paid...i'd still rather be at the theatre anyday).

I'm looking forward to the continuation of auditions tonight. It's fun to get to be on the "other side" of the table! I always say i LOVE auditions when i'm stage managing; i hate them when i'm auditioning! Haha. It's interesting to see the cast put together. =)

But first! Meeting hubby for dinner at La Madeleine's & then going to the bookstore to get some stuff for the long car trip ahead! We are going on a vacation this weekend to celebrate our one year anniversary! Cannot wait! =)
