You would not believe...

Well. We FINALLY made it to San Antonio. And when i say FINALLY - i do mean FINALLY! We keep saying we have brought a whole new meaning to the phrase "what a long day", because today has truly seemed like each minute was at least 5! HA!

I'm really too tired to blog much tonight, but let me just say that:

We left Baton Rouge at 9:30.
We should have arrived in San Antonio about 5:00.
We arrived at 10.

Exactly.

Oh, ALSO, we left Baton Rouge in my 97 chevy blazer. We arrived in San Antonio in a rented Saturn Vue.

The Chevy Blazer is chillin at a run down gas station in Beamont. When it died, hubby & i actually PUSHED it ourselves into the gas station parking lot. We are so thankful for the kindness of strangers, i will say that!

I won't go into all the details of what happened & how much of our trip was spent trying to get our car to MOVE! And then on the phone with parents, rental companies & mechanics. But finally around 3:40 we had just loaded up our rental car & realized we were STARVING. No thoughts of lunch time during all that madness! So we had a nice lunch at Cracker Barrel. We just wanted some GOOD food at that point. Oh & a bath & hotel, but yeahhhh...that was another 5 hours down the road!

But we are finally here. And we are VERY happy. I love my husband! Even in the midst of all that craziness, there was zero irritability (with each other - there was plenty at a certain vehicle!!). He is so sweet & kind all the time. And we crack each other up!! I love him so much & am so happy to be here with him!

We are now relaxing in our hotel & ready to start the day tomorrow!! WOOHOO!

A year ago tonight i was spending my last night alone...dreaming of a future as Mrs. Venable. =)

  1. I always love when trips don't go to plan because they give us fun stories to tell later! :)... Like the time we drove for days to go to the Grand Canyon only to get a few hours away and realize we weren't going to be able to make it because they got a foot of snow over night. We had to redo our entire trip!

Hope you guys continue to have loads of fun and not much more troubles. :)
