Mama M's 5QF!

Dearest Friday - So glad you're here. I love you.

So, it's Five Question Friday. Just one of the reasons why i like Fridays so much! If you'd like to play along, just answer the below questions in your blog. Then you go to Mama M's & add your link to the blog hop!

And, here we go.

1. How much time do you spend on the computer a day?
Well, I work at a computer. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I pretty much keep my email & facebook & blogger minimized for much of that time & check it on & off throughout the day. I also like to spend Saturday mornings catching up on blog reading & such. And no, i don't go all day Sunday without at least checking my email! SO yeah - lots of computer time...

2. Will you pay for your children's colleg or raise them to pay their own way?
Wow. i really don't know. i mean, i have some ideas. But i don't even have kid #1 yet, so i think where they will go to kindergarten is about as far as i've gotten in raising them... HA! Seriously, just some thoughts on it? Well, my parents paid for my first semester. And i flunked out. I took a break & when i went back & got student loans to pay, i still did not do very well. It wasn't until i was paying on those student loans after i had quit college that i regretted not doing well to begin with... That's just my experience. And honestly, even if i went back i don't know that i'd do that well. I suffer from "i hate to study & just won't do it" syndrome. And also a lot of "I feel really really stupid & can't ever focus or concentrate" syndrome.

I want to raise them to be financially responsible & with a husband like mine, that is very likely. (And we're on the same page since he's influenced me in a big way to handle my money wisely.) I would like for them to pay their own way, but i don't want them to have to start out in life with a bunch of debt! Maybe we'll match what they save (a Dave Ramsey tip) or maybe we'd help them in some ways. I also love Mama M's idea of making them think they are paying for it & then pay off their loans for graduation! WOAH! How sweet is that!?

3. Have you ever been in a car accident?
Yes, but no serious ones, thankfully. I had a few when i first started driving. The first a fender bender in my sister's car - i think i was a junior in high school. Then when i was a senior, i hit this awesome truck in the parkinglot of my school. It was parked & no one was in it. I was there on a Saturday for musical theatre practice & after asking around i discovered it was one of the girl's on the softball team - her grandpa - he was there watching her game. So a friend who knew him came w/ me to tell him. He was SO nice & said don't worry about it. Pretty sure my parents didn't even find out! But i was horrified... it was a brand new red stepside chevrolet with white leather interior - pretty hot at the time! It was dent-free - & i ruined that! Sad day! I was in 2 other fender benders besides those (one i was not driving) & i think that's it. That's a lot, but if it helps - it's been about 12 years since i've had a car accident. And i have to tell you - i live in fear of them sometimes...i might drive too defensively these days!

4. What is your favorite book?
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers is HANDS DOWN the BEST book. My other favorite is The Last Sin Eater by the same author. Everyone should read those 2 books! I am also a fan of all the Sophie Kinsella & Marian Keyes books. They are chic lit & really funny - a good relaxing read!

5. Do you make your bed everyday?
Heck no! I love a clean house but i have to leave for work by 7:10 AM everyday. I am not a morning person & i wake up at the last possible minute necessary to be out the door on time as it is! If i'm waking up earlier than i have to it'll be for something like sitting down to breakfast (i usually do that at work) or working out (i do that in the evenings). I am not going to get up early to make the bed! No thanks!

I usually make it Saturday morning & Sunday morning though!

So that's all! Now you should join the fun!

  1. i've only been in one fender bender (and i was just a passenger), but i drive like i've been in tons of really horrible accidents. it's something that freaks me out so bad! and you can never be too careful, right?

ps. my word verification for this comment is "races." something i would NOT be doing as a paranoid driver. weird coincidence i thought i'd mention, haha. :)

  3. That Dave Ramsey's a smart cookie. I hope my kids will be able to contribute something but don't want them to be spending all their free time working. It's a dilemma.
