Mozzerella Stuffed Turkey Burgers & Baked Basil Fries

Guess what, y'all?! Supper was a hit tonight! A home run!
It was delish!
 See?

That is Brad trying to express how delicious these things  are. But i think the expression comes off more as...slightly hysterical? Btw, he opted to not have the buns.

ANYWAY...
I made Mozzerella Stuffed Turkey Burgers, which i got from the blog, A Whisk & A Prayer and Homemade French Fries, which i got from All Recipes. Both were SO YUMMY!

I recently started following Liz at A Whisk & A Prayer & i love her blog. She has fun recipes & i can't wait to try more of them! I'd never made turkey burgers before, but this recipe seemed so simple to make, i had to try it. It was a huge hit. Brad absolutely LOVED these turkey burgers. The fries were good too. And this was SUPER easy to make. You should probably check out her recipe for this - her pictures came out so much better!

Mozzerella Stuffed Turkey Burger Sliders
255 calories/7g fat/20g protein (includes bun)

1 lb. ground turkey
1 package mozzerella cheese balls or shredded mozzerella cheese
(i used shredded, but i think the cheese balls idea was a better one!)
Salt & fresh pepper to taste
1 cup bread crumbs
8 small hamburger buns (whole wheat)
(She topped hers with basil leaves & tomato slices. Looked so good but i didn't have any on hand.)

Put the turkey, bread crumbs, salt & pepper in a bowl & mix together. Make 16 small patties with the ground turkey (emphasis on "small"). 2 of these patties will make ONE burger.

Put 8 of the patties onto a foil lined baking sheet. Top each with mozzerella cheese.

Top with other patty, pressing gently around the edges to seal the cheese in. Sprinkle patty with bread crumbs. Place in oven about 6 inches from the broiler. Broil for about 7 minutes or until cooked through. When cooked, remove patties from the oven, place on bun, top with basil leaves & tomato slices & serve!

I made baked french fries to go with it. The recipe came from All Recipes. Turned out pretty good but needed more seasoning (which we added, so no problem, really!)

Baked Basil Fries
227 calories/7g fat/7g protein
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
4 medium red potatoes
(i actually used 6 red potatoes, so i used a bit more of everything else.)

In a bowl, combine cheese, olive oil, basil & garlic powder.

Cut potatoes into strips, like french frieds. :) Add potatoes to the bowl & toss to coat. Place in a 10x15 baking pan that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.

Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Turn potatoes over. Bake another 15-20 minutes or until crisp & tender.

Excellent dinner! :)
