5QF - Christmas is coming!

Link up at Mama M's if you wanna play along! :)

1. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
Well, as a child, we went to Mississippi (where both sets of grandparents live) & had Christmas Eve with mom's side & Christmas Day with dad's side. But things change as you get older, right? My immediate family picks a night to spend time together, eat & open gifts from each other. It's never Christmas Eve or Day - it's usually just whatever day we can get together that is around Christmas! Mom & Dad usually go to Mississippi & my sister usually goes to England to spend Christmas with her BFF (but not this year, because she has herself a man this Christmas!). So it's just whenever we can as near to Christmas Day as possible. And we do that on Brad's side too just so we can have a little dinner & gift exchange with just his immediate family. I'm still a bit new to this married stuff, but it seems the last 3 years, we spent Christmas Eve at Brad's mom's sister's house & Christmas Day at brad's dad's sister's house! HAHA!

WOW...that was a really long answer!

2. What is your favorite Christmas cookie or candy?
I love divinity. It's addictive. And yum. But i haven't had it in YEARS & YEARS. I just thought of it when asked that question. I might not even like it anymore.

3. What's the worst Christmas gift you've ever received?
Um...i have no memory...when it comes to stuff like that...just in case you were wondering...

4. Christmas song that you love?
O Holy Night.
& anything on Mariah Carey's Christmas cd. Especially her O Holy Night.

5. How many Christmas trees do you put up?
How many??? Geez. Well, just one. And a mini-one at that! I'm hoping next year to get a taller tree. Not huge, but not a mini. And maybe when we have kids, i'll put mini ones in their room...my mom did that in my teens & i loved it!

Ok... your turn!

  1. O Holy Night is my favorite as well :)

  2. I love O Holy Night also. Especially Third Day's version. Yeah, I'm a bit stuck on Third Day right now. :)

My favorite Christmas cookie would be Russian Teacakes. I make them every year. And eat way too many! :) But that's easy because they are bite-sized.

With kids we open gifts on Christmas morning. Because Santa has to bring them, ya know. Although the past few years I've gotten the kids Christmas jammies and have allowed them to open them on Christmas Eve so they could sleep in them that night. They know they are from mom and dad though.

Comments are my favorite.
