My Valentine's Day

Today was Valentine's Day. I wore purple.

Sure, i'd normally wear pink or red on such a day. But my only pink shirt is short-sleeved (which would have been fine as it was almost 70 degrees today...i just didn't realize it'd be that warm when i was getting dressed this morning!) & my only red one needed some SERIOUS ironing & yeah....that's not gonna happen! So i wore purple. Got to work & discovered i wasn't the only one choosing purple for Valentine's Day. :) Had to take a picture. I brought my camera because i have been failing miserably at the "365: take a photo a day" project & i thought that maybe taking my camera everywhere would be helpful. :)

Today was good, but i did get some sad news. My dear Uncle Booky (aka Uncle Ruby) passed away today. He would have been 91 next weekend. We are all okay, as we knew it was coming - although we didn't think it would happen today. Mom went up there yesterday to help out, and today she called & told me he was gone. It seems sudden, and yet, it wasn't. He is one of these spunky healthy guys - was that way all during his 70's & 80's...but it's like as soon as he turned 90, his health declined quickly. :( Please keep us - especially my Aunt Erma, my mom & my mom's sister - in your prayers! Brad & I will be driving up there Wednesday morning for the funeral. We'll come back on Thursday.

After work today, i went to my Body BaYou class...not many people there on Valentine's Day! As i said before, we do celebrate it but we don't go ALL OUT or anything! We had lunch yesterday at Bistro Byronz & i told him i'd make him dinner tonight, whatever he wanted. (He wanted Chicken Cheese & Rice. Silly! But convenient for me, as it was so easy after a long day!) We give each other cards & a VERY small gift...candy & such. It was perfect!

This is what i mean by SIMPLE. A card & recees for Brad (his favorite). Easy enough!

Brad got me this cute bowl with Mary Kay's Satin Lips (love!), a candle & heart-shaped recees inside!

Brad almost always gets me 2 cards...Because he can never choose between silly or sappy! HA! I love this, because i LOVE cards. Here is the sappy one he got me...

And here is the silly one. I absolutely LOVE it. I thought it was hilarious!

HAHA! Love it!!! And he really does feel this way about me. He always makes me feel beautiful. :)
