It's Friday!!

Wow, so... I've been a *really* bad blogger lately. I have said before that I do not care how often I blog... If I blog 4 posts in one day & then none for 3 days, I'm okay with that. Not too worried about posting once a day or anything like that. However, I meant that assuming I'd never go a WHOLE WEEK without posting. That's kind of a long time, to me. So, forgive me? I will post some stuff this weekend...promise!

But for today... I gotta do the Friday usual... :)

1. Do you think cursive writing is overrated? (Schools in Indiana have now voted to take teaching cursive writing out of their curriculum.)
I'm not really sure what I think about this. I guess it's not the most important thing but I don't know that I agree with it being thrown out. Are future generations going to print their signatures & not sign them? Plus, think of all the cool ways people write these days. Lots of times it's a print-cursive mix (mine is)! I guess everyone's handwriting will start looking the same. I guess that's not the end of the world, but... I don't know... while they're at it, can they take algebra out? I can't think of a single time I've used it in "real life"... just sayin!

2. Do you still use a pocket calendar or notepad or do you keep your info on your smart phone?
I have a little planner in my purse. I hope i always have one, even if i get all iphone savvy. I love planners! Haha. And honestly... I still send snail mail & write in a journal occasionally, but I miss doing those things as much as i used to. I am just starting to want a smart phone, but I actually have a calendar on my current phone & never use it. I'd rather the actual planner. :) (I will say that i am very behind on all this tech stuff, though!)

3. What 3 things would you save if your house was burning down (family & pets are safe)?
My camera, my laptop & ... it'd have to be a keepsake of some sort... like the frame from our wedding that all our guests signed or the picture above our bed (it's our last name crocheted by my aunt).

4. Country Mouse or City Mouse, err Person?
There are things I love about both & it seems like the older I get, the more i'd rather live in the country. I grew up in Central, which is a suburb of Baton Rouge. To me, that is the best of both worlds...near enough to the city & with some civilization haha, but still surrounded by nature. I like it. As a teen, I so wanted to be a city girl. In my twenties, I lived in the heart of Baton Rouge & i loved it. I especially loved being less than five minutes from work & the theatre & only 15 minutes from church. I'm a lot farther out now & I don't love the drive, but it's not terrible. I don't actually like where we live, but once we buy a house it will likely be in Central or Zachary (Zachary is more country & a farther out than Central). All that to say... I guess I'm slowly becoming more of a country mouse. :)

5. If you could pick any reality show to go on, which would you pick?
I cannot think of a single one i'd want to be on... unless it was American Idol, as a JUDGE! Haha. That might get on my nerves after awhile, but I would say the salary would be worth it! But I honestly wouldn't want to be on a reality show. Not even The Biggest Loser, which I think would be kind of great and kind of horrible all at the same time.

{Your turn!}

  1. If the future generation just prints their signature they can get rid of that place where you have to print and then sign on all important documents ;) haha.
    Side note, I just asked my husband that question and he said that he doesnt' use cursive for his signature he just writes his initials and scribbles LOL so I guess they can just do that! :)

  2. Is it bad that I don't even know what a smart phone is!?

  3. My writing is a mix of print and cursive. I hate writing in cursive but my print can get pretty curly! I didn't want a smart phone until we moved and then I depended on my iPhone to get me everywhere since it has a GPS. I'm so attached to it now! :)

  4. I don't think handwriting would all look the same, after all, we were all taught to write in cursive using similar methods and everyone I know writes differently. Over time you come up with your own style anyway...
