New Year's Resolutions

Time to share with y'all my 2012 New Year's Resolutions!

I love a new year. I love the idea of starting new. A clean slate. A fresh start.

I saw this picture today & I love it. 2011 was TOUGH. Especially these last few months. I am so ready for a new year & I believe it's going to be a good one!

I love a new calendar. All those blank squares just waiting to be filled.  It is fun for me to think about what might happen in the months to come.  I have friends expecting babies in January, February, March, May, June & July. I have other friends who are getting married.  And as for me? I'll turn 34. I'll celebrate 4 years of marriage. I'll stage manage 39 Steps. And I'll experience my first year at Aveda, a job I love. Who knows what else? I can't wait to find out!

{New Year's Resolutions}

I have broken these down into separate categories.

SPIRITUALLY
Over the last month, I have drawn a lot closer to God. This is good news, obviously. :) I felt like I was slipping away from Him, but my trip to Pennsylvania really refreshed some things in my life. It was a God-thing, me going there. Ever since, I have prayed more, and I have been more spiritually-minded. I have definitely drawn nearer to God & as a result, He has drawn closer to me (James 4:8). I want to continue a close walk with God in 2012. I guess that's kind of broad, so...

-Read the Bible. Daily.
-Become an involved member of my church.
-Love people. Really love them, the way God has called me to.
-Minister with song again.
-Be a better friend.
-Read some christian books, including Captivating by John & Stasi Eldredge & Crazy Love by Francis Chan.

PHYSICALLY
-Track food daily on My Net Diary.
-No sugar or white flour. (Fruit is allowed.)
-WATER, WATER, WATER
-Exercise at least every other day.

FINANCIALLY
-GIVE MORE
-SAVE MORE
-Stick to the budget more. :)

PHOTOGRAPHY
-Take a photography class (or two or three).
-Do the Picture-A-Day thing (I tried this one last year, but quit on purpose. I can't bring my camera to work everyday & by the time I get home, there's not a lot of time for photography after exercise & dinner! But this year I have an iPhone, and you know what? iPhone pics count! So yes. Picture-A-Day in 2012.)
-Participate in photography blog hops
-Read "Learning to See Creatively" by Bryan Peterson
-Read "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson

So there you have it. My List.

Here's to 2012!
