Christmas #2 {Christmas Eve Day}

I hope you all are recovering nicely. I personally cannot BELIEVE Christmas is already over! Today has been spent organizing & dusting our bedroom, and before the day is over it will be vaccuumed! It needs it! I would be really pleased if i cleaned both bathrooms today as well. We shall see! But now? It's time for a little break!

I wanted to recap our four Christmases. The first one is here, and this post is about Christmas #2! Christmas Eve Day.

We went to Brad's Uncle Kenny & Aunt Annette's house, to spend Christmas with Brad's mom's side of the family. I really love going to their house. It's only about 15 or 20 minutes from us, but the area is so much more beautiful! I would love to live there someday. Just to show you what i mean, I snapped this photo as we were leaving... about 20 times. Ha! I was trying to capture what I was seeing & the picture doesn't do it justice. But i love it. It screams Louisiana. And it was a BEAUTIFUL day.  Beautiful SUMMERY day. But beautiful, nonetheless. ;)

Anyway, we had a great time visiting with family. I love that Brad's family often does gumbo for Christmas Eve. It's something different for Christmas so if you are lucky enough to have four Christmases, you don't have to have the same meal four times! Although I do love the traditional Christmas meal also! (P.S. If you have never had gumbo you need to come to Louisiana & get you some!) :)

 Kenny & Annette's pug, Lacey.

There was a little miscommunication where everyone was told to be there for the gumbo at noon ... but the cook thought it was at two! Therefore, i didn't have breakfast, we busted our butts to get there at noon, and after two we still hadn't eaten! There were plenty of snacks around, but i was still sticking to my no sweets/desserts rule. I got to the angry point of hunger, and it wasn't pretty! HAHA. Please don't tell... i tried to only express it to Brad & his sister! :o)

 (Yes, i realize being bratty isn't very nice on Christmas Eve Day. Please forgive. I was hungry. And angry. And had a headache from such hunger. Haha. The gumbo was well worth the wait, though. I will say that! And as soon as I had some, the hunger-anger was gone!)

More pics from Christmas #2!
 My sweet mother-in-love. She's a wonderful person!

 Uncle Lon & Aunt Margie. Aren't they the cutest?!

My favorite pic... Brad's cousin Chris & his girlfriend Ellyn. We LOVE Ellyn, she is so sweet!

So, that was Christmas Eve Day... Christmas Eve NIGHT to come! Haha. :)
