Weekend Shenanigans

Based on what I had on my calendar, i KNEW this past weekend would be amazing. And it pretty much met my expectations!

Friday night, I had dinner with three of my girlfriends! Mandy, Ashley M & Ashley E. Ashley E is pretty new to our church, so this was the first time we hung out with her outside of church! Love her! She had the idea to put together a church directory, and recruited us to help out. So this was technically a meeting, but mostly we just goofed off! ;)

Of course, we took a selfie.

Saturday, i went to my mom's house & we headed to Mandeville to spend the day with my sister! We planned this MONTHS ago & I have been excited about it! Desperately needing some mommy/sissy time!

First, we went to eat lunch at Old Rail Brewing Company. It is my new favorite restaurant (as of last time i went to Mandeville), it is just delicious!

Then we did some shopping at HomeGoods & Gordon's. I LOVE HomeGoods. Michelle found this martini glass...she said... "NOW we're talking!" Haha.

Annnnd I got my first photography prop!! This is exciting, people. The basket is a blue-ish gray... I don't know if you can tell in the pic. I have my first official newborn shoot coming up in a couple weeks! It's a boy. So i think i will definitely be using this soon!

After some shopping, we headed to have tea. Yes, tea. As in high tea like they have in England. My sister has a thing for teas. They have never been my thing, as i am usually not wanting to be in a dress and not really wanting to eat tiny foods when i would prefer a burger (ha!). But over the years i have grown to enjoy them. My sister has had them for her birthdays, for when friends come in town, and she had one as a bridesmaid's brunch during her wedding week! It is just her thing, you know, and so i might as well enjoy them since i will be forced asked to go to them with her! Haha. Seriously, though, we really had a great time. I think i enjoyed the food & tea at this one more than the other ones!! And we have had tea at the Ritz Carlton in New Orleans! This wasn't nearly as fancy, but the food was just as delicious! :)

We each got a different kind of tea & this was mine. It was really good! And here i am trying to be all prim & proper with my tea. HA! That's a laugh! ;)

Sunday was church, and then a walmart run (JOY!). Sunday evening was my second round of mother's day mini sessions. The lighting was so different... last week was overcast. This week the sun was just blinding! But i think i got some good pics. My friend Mandy came along to help again! Thank the LORD, because i definitely needed my reflector this time!

Here we are between clients...gotta love that bright sun beating down on me! And this was at 6 pm! Geez! There were also lovely mosquitos, lots of humidity, & DIRT. I actually took a shower when i got home! Haha! Brought me back to childhood, that feeling after playing in the woods all day! ;)

It was pretty much the best weekend I've had in awhile. Can't wait for another one! ;)

  1. Looks like a fun one!
I've never been to a tea. Don't even know if we have a place that I could do that around here. Might have to look into it. :)

I look forward to seeing more of your mini pics!

  2. I see people going to these tea things and I just cannot relate!! I think there is somewhere here that does that but like...it just seems so foreign to me! Give me a coffee shop anyday! I don't want to have to be fancy to drink something hot! (Plus, I don't even like tea that much, ha.)

  3. Looks like an awesome weekend for sure.

I am not one of tea either but have a dear friend who loves to do tea and sounds like would be good friends with your sister. I feel your pain/joy on that one indeed!

Can't wait to see how you use the basket for your newborn photoshoot.
